I bought titles that weren’t even on my syllabus, just to have the knowledge. There’s no better alternative to reading the actual textbooks than the LPC Buddy series.

A really comprehensive and useful guide!

I had trouble downloading the file to print and in the end had to manually save each page myself which took a lot of time. I reached out for assistant and received a very vague email instructing me on how to download.
Usually I love your products as they have been a massive help with my studies and the private client guide is a fantastic tool.

The LPC Buddy has generally helped me to pass my exams which is very key.

Would definitly recommend this study guide. Well laid out with all the required infomation.

I am already a solicitor specialising in employment law but was interested in learning more about private client law and found this guide a useful additional study aid.

The buddy for the electives are just not as good as the core modules. There’s a lack of detail especially when it comes to things covered in the workshop task. It feels like a waste of money for the electives.

So well organised and clear.

It’s a life saver !

I am very impressed with the details given, it's literally easy to follow along with your workshop notes.

Massively useful, summarises every topic so it can be revised quickly rather than pouring over loads of textbook pages. Don’t know how I did without it before.

I purchased the elective modules at the end of February and a couple of weeks later realised they were the 2023 versions, not 2024.
I emailed twice asking for an exchange and received no response.
I then completed the contact form on the website and did receive a response to this. However the response was to purchase the 2024 guides after which I will then receive a refund for the 2023 versions purchased previously.
I had already spent over £50 purchasing the 2023 versions (which shouldn’t really be available for sale in 2024) and I was then told I needed to spend another £67 to purchase the 2024 versions.
I am clearly a student - I have no money! Refunds take at least 10 working days so I would be over £110 out of pocket for these days.
This along with the printing costs as they are only offered as e-books is obscene for a small study guide.
I’m not too sure why the new guides are so much more expensive either when they probably contain the exact same information.

Easy to follow notes.

The best thing to supplement revision! Perfect and easy to use when the topics are so hard
Are you tired of poring through pages upon pages of convoluted textbooks on your LPC? If you're anything like we were when we studied this course, we know what the answer will be. That's why we developed LPC Buddy, a concise eBook and note pack for the Legal Practice Course, that helps you makes sense of complex topics, quickly, easily, and with minimal stress.
The LPC is hard; what makes it hard is a lack of time, the fact it is relentless, and never offers you a breather for the full duration ofyourcourse. Expensive course providers don't help this by giving you access to poor quality course materials that make preparing for workshops every week a boring chore, and revision horrendously stressful (because it becomes a nightmare to find anything!).
We know this, because we have been there, done that, and got the t-shirt. We also thought that it was completely unnecessary. Having since qualified, we decided to use our professional expertise do something about it, and developed LPC Buddy; a clear, concise study companion that is designed to cut through the noise and streamline your studying process.
We've done the hard work for you by carefully analysing key concepts, highlighting the most important information, and flagging key workshop tasks* in the footnotes so you can spend more time understanding topics, or doing things that aren't just reading LPC textbooks!
Our guide cuts down on the time you need to spend preparing for workshops every week*, helps you keepon top of thedense reading assignments, and equips you to excel in your final exams.
We have worked hard to ensure our guides are structuredclearly, so that finding topics and navigating your moduleis super simple. We give you full access to a PDFeBook from which you can copy, paste, and print, andWord Documents, which allow you to edit as you go. Our modules are up-to-date, and reviewed every year by solicitors to ensure they remain accurate.
Don't waste precious time making thousands of pages of notes; we've already done it for you!
*Workshop tasks covered are those at the University of Law.

Store owner replied:
Hi Zishan,
We're sorry you are disappointed by the elective guides.
We have prepared our elective guides with the same level of care that we have our Core Module guides, including referencing University of Law workshop tasks in the footnotes.
We have done our best to ensure that all workshop tasks referenced are answerable by reference to the content to which the footnote relates.
If you have specific tasks in mind that you believe that we do not cover in sufficient detail please drop us an email and we will review and address if necessary.
Best of luck with your studies,

Store owner replied:
Hi Lauren,
I am sorry about any frustration caused here.
It is a shame that you chose to leave this review whilst our customer support team was still helping you; we were still corresponding at the time that this review was posted. I note that we were able to provide you with a means of upgrading to our 2024 electives without you needing to wait for a refund, addressing your concern, and that you accepted our proposed solution.
To briefly address the other points in your review, you mention that the 2023 versions of our guides “should not be available in 2024”. This is not a fair criticism as the 2023 versions of our elective guides were appropriate for all LPC students taking elective exams up to and inclusive of February 2024.
This is because LPC providers publish updated elective materials in February of each year for use in exam periods from the following March to February. This means that a student purchasing from us in February 2024, who was undertaking an exam in February 2024, would have required a 2023 version of the guide, as this reflected the syllabus against which they were assessed.
We do not cater solely for full-time September starters, but for starters in September, January, and July, doing full-time, part-time, and accelerated courses, as well as students at different providers, who have differing exam periods.
As with any information business, a significant cost associated with our materials is what goes on behind the scenes in terms of reviewing, maintaining, and updating information we provide. This is labour and resource intensive, and even if the law does not change significantly in a given year, this review process still needs to be carried out in order to determine that there have been no changes.
You speculate that our guides “probably contain the exact same information”; we update our guides are reviewed every year to account for any changes in the law in accordance with the most recent LPC syllabus. Our guides, in short, change as much as the law does.
Sometimes the law changes substantially, sometimes it doesn't. In either event, our guides reflect the changes. This is something that we carry out for the benefit of students to ensure that they are provided with materials that reflect the syllabus on which they are examined.
I hope that clarifies things, and wish you luck for your exams.
